Arthur Jacques LeDuc was a French visual artist who was born in 1848 and died in 1918. He was considered one of the leading and revolutionary sculptors depicting animals, his most famous being the depiction of Nessus and Deianeira. This piece shows a family of deer, the male looking over his mate and calf. It is a life-size piece and is on permanent display at the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris.
